Tarsila do Amaral + Westwing Collection
During my four years at Westwing, this collaboration has been one of the most meaningful personally and professionally. I led product development and creative coordination, together with Elisa Burlamaqui, in this heartfelt tribute to Brazil’s iconic modernist artist Tarsila do Amaral. We immersed ourselves in her world, studying her vibrant colors, bold shapes, and deep connection to Brazilian nature — even traveling to Tiradentes as part of our creative research.
We developed a line of over 14 pieces (rugs and decorative cushions) for the Tramas de Tarsila collection, translating Tarsila’s most beloved works and motifs — like A Lua, Abaporu, Manacá, A Negra — into textile surfaces. Notably, the rug inspired by Tarsila’s most famous work, Abaporu, was personally designed by me. The rugs are made with 100% nylon fibers and a non-slip felt base, with hand-finished edges.
This project reflects both a design-driven approach and a deep personal admiration: it’s a way for her art to live in people’s homes, weaving beauty and memory into daily life.
